IOWA ROCK FESTIVAL SCRAPPED OVER VENUE DISPUTE
A planned music festival in Iowa featuring classic rock acts like SAXON, TWISTED SISTER and GREAT WHITE has been scrapped after a bust up between organisers and venue bosses.
The four-day Rock Gone Wild event was scheduled to take place at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood later this month (20-24Aug09).
Promoters switched the site from Freedom Park in Algona last month (Jul09), but now the show won't go on at all.
Organiser Dana Young tells Blabbermouth.net, "I was informed on August 5, 2009, by email from legal counsel representing Diamond Jo Casino, that... the event cannot take place anywhere on the licensed premises."
Other acts on the bill for the festival included Skid Row, Sevendust and Warrant.
