INXS' STEVENS HAS OPEN HEART SURGERY
Former INXS rocker JON STEVENS has undergone open heart surgery after doctors discovered a blockage in one of his main arteries.
The singer, who fronted INXS for three years following the death of Michael Hutchence in 1997, was taken to hospital on Friday (11Sep09) after doctors discovered the problem during a routine check-up.
The New-Zealand born star, who now performs as a solo artist, underwent the procedure at a hospital in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday (15Sep09) and is said to be doing well.
A statement from Stevens' management says, "Jon's condition will prevent him performing for a short while until he makes a full recovery."
It's the latest health scare for the rocker - he had two tubes inserted into the arteries of his heart last December (08).
