INTERPOL CANCER U.K. GIG

American rockers INTERPOL were forced to cancel a U.K. gig after a bandmember was struck down by a mystery illness. The group were due to play at the Newcastle Academy venue on Tuesday (21Aug07), but pulled out at the last minute. The band have so far failed to reveal the nature of the illness or which member it affects, but fans on the group's messageboards suggest it was bassist Carlos Dengler. Interpol are scheduled to appear at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange venue on Wednesday (22Aug07), as well as this weekend's (25-26Aug07) Reading and Leeds Festivals.
