INDIAN FILM STARS LAMBASTE "BOLLYWOOD" DESIGNATION

Two top Indian film stars have reviled the Western news media for continuing to use the term "Bollywood" to refer to the Indian movie industry. Speaking to the India-EU Film Initiative in New Delhi, Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri said that the term was meant to mock Indian films. "It's just an indication of our own idiocy that we still use it," said Shaw. Said Puri: "It is a derogatory term. These terms are created by the media."
