IGLESIAS FEARED FOR HIS LIFE ON JET RIDE

Singer ENRIQUE IGLESIAS prepared for a grisly death on a recent transatlantic flight when his jet lost an engine, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.
The incident, which took place during a flight to England last year (19Oct08), left the Hero hitmaker shaking with fear - and even the pilot suggested he have a drink to calm his nerves.
Iglesias tells British chat show host Paul O'Grady, "Last time I came here we were gliding over the Atlantic and one of the engines blew up. And I'm a freak about flying. If I hear any type of noise I get really scared.
"But the pilot said it was fine. He just said, 'Pray a little and have a few shots of vodka.' The noise completely changed and it freaks you out, but we got through it thanks to the pilot."
It wasn't the first near miss the star has had in the air - he encountered similar traumas on a trip from London to Germany.
He continues, "The windshield broke. There were German pilots that started freaking out. The flight attendant ran back and she was crying and I said, 'Are we going to die?', and she goes, 'I don't know, I don't know!'
"I'm going, 'Oh my god...' and the pilots were just screaming and I didn't know what the hell they were saying. It wasn't very nice."
