IGGY POP'S ROCK ALBUM RETREAT

IGGY POP retreated to a countryside hideaway to pen songs for his new album - in a desperate bid to escape his wild lifestyle.
The punk icon - who's blasted the state of modern rock music and blames groups such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Limp Bizkit for the genre's decline - went back to basics and isolated himself in a small cabin with his guitar when writing for new disc Preliminaires.
He tells New York magazine, "I am a hick from the sticks. I come from a town in Michigan called Ypsilanti. The cabin is like a studio, an office, a place I’ll go to do face-to-face interviews. I also have a small estate with my family in Miami, Florida, and I go to the (Cayman) Islands when I can’t take it anymore."
