IGGY POP'S RAW REUNION
Iggy Pop has revealed he is to get the surviving members of 'The Stooges' together to perform their classic album 'Raw Power'.
Iggy Pop is set to reform the original line-up of The Stooges to play 'Raw Power'.
The 'Lust For Life' star has been in discussions with former guitarist James Williamson about getting together al the members of the legendary rock band to perform their classic 1973 album in full.
Iggy told The Australian: "I had a meeting in Los Angeles last week with James.
"It was the first time we had seen each other in 30 years. So we talked about doing something together. 'Raw Power' would be the repertoire.''
Original member Ron Asheton - who played bass on 'Raw Power' and played guitar during a 2003 reunion and subsequent tours - died of a heart attack in January but the frontman insists a reunion is still possible.
He said: "There is always Iggy And The Stooges, the second growth of the band.''
It is unknown who would step in for Ron, but Minutemen's Mike Watt has played guitar with the group since their 2003 reunion.
Shortly after Ron's death, former Sex Pistols musician Steve Jones indicated he would be interested in joining the group.
He said: "If they wanna carry on, I'd gladly step into his shoes. It'd be a laugh. You can put that out there. If they wanna carry on, I wouldn't mind playing a bit of guitar."
The Stooges formed in 1967 and split in 1974. A part reunion followed in 2003, with the group recording and releasing new material to mixed reviews.
On their recent tours - which haven't included James - The Stooges have refrained from playing any material from 'Raw Power', which includes some of their best known songs, including 'Search And Destroy', 'Gimme Danger' and the title track.

It would be nice to here the ep ,sick of you /gimme some skin or some of the
live stuff that was on the2 disc version of metallic K.O. I'm not talking
about the s**tty songs.Plus if old man williamson can play the lead to "I
gotta right" it would blow me away .Also rework some songs from "Kill
City".Need new material,I would be willing to donate a couple of songs. What
kills me is that it takes a tragic incident, like losing Ron to even get these
f**kers to talk to each other.I hope it happens, maybe you could find it in your
hearts to honor Ron,by playing one of his songs,it would be the icing on the
cake.RevWahFair
