IDLE BLAST PYTHONS
MONTY PYTHON funnyman ERIC IDLE has branded his old comedy partners two-faced for reaping the financial rewards of his hit musical SPAMALOT, despite expressing reservations about the show. Idle, who wrote the musical which is based on 1975 film MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, insists he's not bothered if his former castmates are unhappy with the result, because the flood of new Python fans he's attracted makes it a worthwhile venture. The LIFE OF BRIAN star says, "I don't want to talk about the other Pythons. That's just stirring s**t up. They all accept their cheques. I don't care about Python in that sense - all I care about is the audience. "When in Chicago, I had middle-aged women going, 'I never like Monty Python but I loved this show.' I was a very happy man." Spamalot premiered in London last week (17OCT06).
