ICE CUBE SCEPTICAL OF BLACK POLITICIANS

Rapper/actor ICE CUBE is in no hurry to see a black president in the White House, because he isn't convinced black politicians make a difference. Ice Cube, real name O'SHEA JACKSON, insists black politicians such as former Secretary Of State COLIN POWELL and his replacement CONDOLEEZZA RICE, still can't changed life for poverty-stricken African Americans. The GANGSTA GANGSTA hitmaker says, "It doesn't matter who's in the White House, you've still got to get up and got to work in the morning. All that s**t doesn't concern me or the people in the inner cities. "Ok, it matters because if the significance in history, but life is still painful right now and we've got black people in positions of power right by the side of the President. Just because the President's black doesn't mean he's going to make the change."

I have to agree with O'Shea. I strongly feel and have always felt that a black president would be the biggest catastrophe for blacks in Amerikka since slavery. Jessie tried it. Al attempted it. Many others have entertained about it. My position and why: A "black" president would not be the "PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES". He would be "THE BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES". I can't speak for all black amerikkans, as a matter of fact I can't even speak from most. But what I can do is establish an opinion based upon what is going on around me "for real". "For Real" as in "REAL LIFE". Not the cushy make believe life we all wish were more of a reality than fiction. First we must learn to support our black mayors, our black aldermen or any of our black leaders that hold public office. How about we start by supporting our BLACK BUSINESSES, then if this fantasy ever became a reality "others" would not be so suprised that a PERSON that HAPPENS to be BLACK had successfully been elected to such a position. The candidate running for presidential office would do well in the primaries. Would show favor in the black communities, would definately be "the talk of the town". But come election day, NIL. Sad but true. I would be supportive based upon the agenda and the issues set forth by the people. Not because the candidate just happened to be black. Although I would be less than honest if I were to say that I would not show any favortism to the "black like me" candidate. In the words of Jessie.........KEEP HOPE ALIVE
