ICE CUBE AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO MUSIC STUDENT
Rapper/actor ICE CUBE is investing in the future of hip-hop - he has awarded a struggling student a full scholarship to help turn her music dreams into reality.
The generous star has agreed to cover the costs of Lindsay Miller's higher education at MCNally Smith College of Music in Minnesota, the first musical institution to offer a hip-hop degree.
Miller, who has been juggling her studies with a full-time job, beat thousands of other budding musicians to land the award from the Ice Cube Scholarship for Recording Technology.
The teenager emerged triumphant after winning over Ice Cube himself with her application, which included the submission of an originally produced track.
Miller tells AllHipHop.com, "I was ecstatic when I learned that I won. The school offers the most hands-on and real-world experience working with record labels and studios anywhere in the world."
The scholarship, the value of which has not been disclosed, is awarded in association with MCNally Smith College of Music.
