IAN BROWN'S THRILLER INSPIRATION
Former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown's upcoming LP was inspired by Michael Jackson's 1982 album 'Thriller'.
Ian Brown will release an album inspired by Michael Jackson in September.
The former Stone Roses frontman's solo LP 'My Way' will come out later this year in homage to the late pop legend's 1982 album 'Thriller'.
He explained to NME.com: "'Thriller' was our blueprint. Every time we wrote a song we didn't think was strong enough, we scrapped it."
The 46-year-old British rocker also revealed final alterations to the tracks took place on the June 25, as the news of the 50-year-old singer's death by suspected cardiac arrest was announced.
However, Ian is determined the album - his sixth studio LP as a solo artist - will follow the success of his 2007 hit 'The World is Yours' and won't be riddled with bad luck.
He explained: "We mastered it on the day that Michael Jackson died too, so I'm taking that as a good omen."
'My Way' - which was recorded with producer Dave McCracken at Manchester's Battery Studios' is due out on September 28, following the release of the LP's lead single 'Stellify' on September 21.
