I DIDN'T ASSAULT RIHANNA, CHRIS BROWN SAYS

R&B singer Chris Brown had pleaded not guilty to assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna at a Los Angeles court.

Prosecutors claim Brown attacked the 21-year-old singer during a roadside argument on the way to the Grammy awards in February.

Rihanna's lawyer has previously stated the singer - real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty – would testify against Brown, 19, if required.

After hearing Brown plead not guilty to two charges of assaulting and threatening Rihanna, the judge at the Los Angeles superior court set the date for the next hearing as April 29th.

Reports suggest the argument between the pair started after Rihanna discovered a text message from another woman on Brown's phone.

Pictures emerged on the internet a few days after the alleged assault, showing the singer with a series of bruises and cuts on her face.
