HURT: THE SHY ARTIST

ALIEN actor JOHN HURT loves to paint when he's not making movies, but is too shy to display his creations to the public. The Oscar-nominated actor, 67, has sold some of his paintings, but doesn't believe his work is good enough to warrant an exhibition. He says, "I enjoy art a lot and have done for many years. "I am not too sure I am ready to show any of my pieces - they are figurative art - I have been asked to in the past. "Anyway I am not sure I would have enough for an art exhibition of my own - some pieces I have sol and given away but so many more I have destroyed through artistic temperament."
