HURT REPRISES CRISP ROLE

British actor JOHN HURT is returning to one of his most famous roles, to play gay writer QUENTIN CRISP in a sequel to THE NAKED CIVIL SERVANT. Hurt, 67, became a star after winning critical acclaim for his performance in the 1975 TV drama. The new installment will be based on Crisp's diaries and set in New York in the 1980s and 1990s. Producer James Burstall says, "He went there because he wanted to be his own man in a new city and also because he wanted to entertain and be entertained." Crisp died in 1999 at the age of 90.

I am delighted to hear this news. It is presumable being filmed to conincide with Quentin's centenary. Mr Crisp was one of the most remarkable figures of the twentieth century and must not be forgotton.
