HURT DITCHES ALCOHOL
Actor JOHN HURT has given up alcohol in a desperate bid to control his mood swings and improve his home life. The SHOOTING DOGS star admits he has a troubled relationship with drink - which has been blamed for the demise of his last two marriages - and credits his new teetotal status with giving him a better quality of life. He says, "Cleaning up your act helps a bit. I've never been much good at just having one drink, so I prefer life without it. "Drink doesn't make you feel better, it just exacerbates the mood you are in. Certainly my moods are more controllable now."
