HUNTER ASKS FOR PRIVACY AFTER BROKEN ENGAGEMENT

Model RACHEL HUNTER is begging the media leave her in peace as she struggles to come to terms with her broken engagement.
Rod Stewart's ex-wife, 39, was due to marry Canadian ice hockey star Jarret Stoll in California in August (09), but the 27 year old reportedly called off the wedding this week (begs22Jun09), without giving his bride-to-be any explanation.
Hunter was alleged to be "devastated" by the split, with a source telling Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Everything was in place for their wedding... She has absolutely no idea why Jarret has done this."
The blonde beauty's representative has now confirmed the break-up, and is asking the press to let the model deal with her troubles away from the spotlight.
A statement reads, "The August wedding of Rachel Hunter and Jarret Stoll has been cancelled and the couple have decided to split. We ask you (the media) to respect Rachel and her family's privacy during this extremely upsetting time."
Stoll and Hunter became engaged in 2008 after dating for two years.
Hunter divorced Stewart in 2006 after 16 years of marriage. She has been romantically linked to British pop star Robbie Williams and ice hockey bad boy Sean Avery.
