HUMBLED SIGEL STUNS CHARITY WITH CASH HAND-OUT

Rapper BEANIE SIGEL set a good example at a fundraising party at the end of last month (JUN06) when he personally contributed $3,200 (GBP1,780) and then urged his peers to follow suit. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania rapper, real name ANTHONY MOSES DAVID, was "so humbled" after learning about the R+B Foundation's Doc Pomus Financial Assistance Programme he dug deep at the annual Pioneer Awards. Stunned producers ANDRE HARRIS and VIDAL DAVIS added $6,400 (GBP3,560) to Sigel's hand-out, giving delighted charity bosses a $9,600 (GBP5,330) boost. The rapper has come through with his pledge, telling charity bosses, "I was humbled by the experience of the awards ceremony. "I never realised who these artists were or the history and importance of their contributions to music. Tonight also showed everyone the impact the work of the R+B Foundation has on the artists... I was moved to do something. "I also issue a challenge to all my musical peers to step up and follow our lead." The Doc Pomus Financial Assistance Programme provides emergency financial assistance to aged R+B artists who struggle to pay for such things as medications, wheelchairs, dental work, hearing aids, housing and funerals.

Just for the record, Beanie Sigel's real name is Dwight Grant, not Anthony David Moses. Thanks, I am a HUGE Beanie Fan!! Mi$$
