HOWARD SNUBBED OSCARS OVER POSING FEARS
TERRENCE HOWARD snubbed the Oscars because he hates being forced to smile for an army of photographers.
The former Academy Award nominee decided he'd prefer to watch the ceremony on TV in New York.
He says, "You see people learning to smile on cue, to laugh on cue and to wear what they're supposed to wear. You start off as a celebrated artist and you end up as a celebrity. I don't want to be a celebrity.
"When I was nominated, I found myself going to the parties I was supposed to be at, instead of being where I wanted to be.
"That's why I didn't go to the Oscars (this year). I went to New York and I watched the Oscars on television."
But Howard insists he does have regrets about not attending the Oscars: "I wished I was there because it reminded me of being the artist and desire to get there."
