HOWARD FELT 'BETRAYED' BY NIXON

FROST/NIXON director RON HOWARD felt let down by former U.S. President RICHARD NIXON - because the filmmaker had once voted for him.
Howard's new film is based on a series of interviews Nixon gave to British TV host David Frost in 1977 in which he admitted he may have broken the law in the Watergate scandal.
And the interviews had special significance for Howard - he had voted for Nixon to be re-elected as president in 1972 and admits he felt "betrayed".
He says, "I went into the interviews not as a Nixon hater, but having felt wounded by Watergate and betrayed as an American. The interviews were very cathartic to me."
