HOUSTON'S DAUGHTER URGED HER TO DIVORCE BROWN

WHITNEY HOUSTON's teenage daughter BOBBI KRISTINA urged her mum to divorce her father BOBBY BROWN - after watching him date a string of women when the former couple split in 2006.
In a candid U.S. TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, Houston reveals she told her then-husband she was stepping out to get groceries - and fled to Los Angeles to stay with friends after a series of drug and alcohol-fuelled fights.
Houston had to leave her daughter behind in Atlanta, Georgia - in the care of her brother Gary - and after the youngster had calmed down over her parents' split, she advised her mother, who was still trying to kick her drug habits, to dump Brown once and for all.
The singer says, "She was just a kid - 13, learning to be a young woman - and I'd give her bits and pieces, but that Internet and that computer, man... She was like, 'Mum, did you see dad?' And she saw him with (other women), just crazy things, and she said, 'Oh no, no, divorce him, just let him go.'
"She said, 'You stay here with me, you love me, you take me to school, you do things with me; you don't just play me, you don't lie to me, you're there for me. When he comes and tells me he's coming, he never comes.'
"She was far more intelligent that I had ever imagined."
Houston admits those words from her daughter gave her the strength to end the marriage. She and Bobby Brown were divorced in 2007.
