HOUSTON HELD TOWN HALL MEETING WITH OPRAH
WHITNEY HOUSTON's big comeback interview with OPRAH WINFREY took place at the same New York theatre where she discovered she was destined to be a performer.
The diva was 13 when she stepped into the spotlight to sing a segment from Annie musical song Tomorrow with her mother Cissy at the Town Hall Theater - and realised how powerful her voice was.
She told Winfrey, "I walked down to the front (of the stage) and I began to sing and the whole audience rushed to the stage. It was that moment that my mother said, 'God has smiled on you, and this is what you're supposed to do... You're gonna be doing big things.'"
The much-hyped two-part TV interview debuted in America on Monday afternoon (14Sep09).
