HOUGH RECOVERING AFTER HOSPITAL DASH

LATEST: DANCING WITH THE STARS contestant JULIANNE HOUGH is recovering after she was admitted to hospital with stomach pains following her performance on the U.S. reality TV show.
Country singer and professional dancer Hough was admitted to Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after performing on the TV talent contest on Tuesday (21Oct08).
Hough admits she felt ill before the show but didn't want to worry people: "I'm a trooper. I didn't tell anyone. I didn't want to be dramatic about things.
"I don't know if anyone could see my face during the show, but I was trying so hard to put a smile on. I was in so much pain.
"Afterward, I went backstage and curled up in a ball. That's when everyone said I needed to go to the hospital. I didn't collapse as some reports indicated."
Hough feared that she could have appendicitis - but doctors soon reassured the star after examining her.
She says, "With stomach problems, you never know what's going on. It could've been appendicitis. It turned out just to be a bad stomach. As my mom said, better safe than sorry.
"I'd never been in an emergency room before. I was grateful I wasn't there for anything more serious than a bad stomach ache."
And she reassures fans by adding, "Everybody, I'm ok. I'm fine."
