HOUGH GETS SET TO GET FOOTLOOSE

Country singer and U.S. reality TV star JULIANNE HOUGH has won the chance to dance with GOSSIP GIRL hunk CHACE CRAWFORD in the FOOTLOOSE remake.
The pretty blonde - a regular on TV show Dancing With The Stars - has beaten off hundreds of hopefuls to land the part Lori Singer played in the 1984 Kevin Bacon film.
Crawford will take on Bacon's character Ren MCCormack after replacing Zac Efron in the new movie.
Hayden Panettiere and Miley Cyrus were both reportedly interested in the role of Ariel Moore - the part Hough will be playing.
According to Daily Variety, producers are simply trying to sort out the filming schedule around Hough before making the casting news official.
Speaking at the CMT Awards on Tuesday (16Jun09), Hough confessed she was "excited" about the prospect of playing Ariel, adding her auditions had "gone very well".
The film is set to start shooting next spring (10).
