HONOURS FOR ATTENBOROUGH BROTHERS

Movie star SIR RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH and his broadcaster brother SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH have been honoured by their hometown university. Oscar winner Lord Attenborough, 82, and Sir David, 80, received distinguished fellowships from the University of Leicester, England - where their father FREDERICK was principal more than 60 years ago. Speaking at the ceremony yesterday (14JUL06) GANDHI director Richard described choosing acting over an academic career, "Unequivocally the greatest regret of my life." Sir David, who has achieved worldwide fame for his stunning wildlife programmes, added, "I am truly proud to be given this honour and I thank you all."
