HOLLYWOOD IS "SPEECHLESS" IN SUPPORT OF STRIKE

Hollywood stars have lent their talents to a series of films, in aid of the writers strike.

The series, entitled SPEECHLESS, will be released on the internet to raise awareness of the strike.

The first three films, which were released today, feature HOLLY HUNTER, SEAN PENN and PAULA PRENTISS.

Future releases will star TIM ROBBINS, KATE BECKINSALE and SUSAN SARANDON, among others.

The actors have been filmed in a style reminiscent of ANDY WARHOL's SCREEN TESTS.

Originally the stars were going to stare silently at the camera holding a "SPEECHLESS" sign. However many chose to improvise scenes.

ALAN SEREBOFF, who conceived the project alongside GEORGE HICKENLOOPER, told the New York Daily News: "We want to show the influence and significance of writers. The idea is that without words, there's no acting."

Hickenlooper added: "Lots of people think the actors just show up on set and make things up."

The writers strike has been ongoing since November 5th. According to the Telegraph 15,000 jobs remain under threat.
