HOLLYWOOD ACTOR SCHREIBER TO STAR IN CSI

Movie star LIEV SCHREIBER is following in KEVIN FEDERLINE's footsteps with a guest appearance on hit forensics show CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION. THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE actor has signed up for a recurring role in the series, with his debut scheduled for January 2007. He'll play a seasoned investigator who joins the Las Vegas Crime Lab after success in a string of other police departments. CAROL MENDELSOHN, executive producer of the show, tells Moviehole.net, "I'm a huge Liev Schreiber fan. On stage or in film, I think he's one of the finest actors of his generation. "We first sat down with Liev earlier this summer to discuss the possibility of him appearing as a recurring character on CSI. We knew it was a long shot, he really doesn't do television. But he was patient and I think amused, as we promised that we'd create a character for him that he couldn't refuse to play. "Excitingly for us, he collaborated in this process. And we've got a wonderful, complex character as a result." Schreiber adds, "After meeting the people who run CSI, it immediately becomes apparent why it has consistently been one of the top shows on television. I am a fan, how could I say no?" Aspiring rapper Federline also guest starred in the show this year (06) while THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY, who has sung the theme tune for six years, agreed to appear in a future episode.
