HOFFMAN TO MAKE DIRECTORIAL DEBUT
PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN is to make his directorial debut with a romantic comedy called JACK GOES BOATING.
The Oscar winning actor will helm and star in the movie, an adaptation of an Off Broadway play by Bob Glaudini about two misfits living in New York City.
Gone Baby Gone actress Amy Ryan will star opposite Hoffman, with John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega reprising their roles from the stage production.
The show will be overseen by Overture Films, the company which signed a deal with Hoffman's production house Cooper's Town last year (08).
Overture's chief operating officer Danny Rosett says, "Phil is such a unique talent, and this opportunity to work his creative mojo not just in front of the camera but also from the director's chair is just irresistible for us."
