HIGH HAWKINS CHALLENGED CUSTOMS OFFICIALS TO FIND HIS COCAINE

Former THE DARKNESS frontman JUSTIN HAWKINS was so high on drugs during one trip home to the U.K. he challenged airport customs officers to search him - an act that would have landed him in jail if they had agreed.
The rocker has now cleaned up the bad habit, which cost him his fortune and almost his life, and he admits he still can't believe some of the wild things he did while under the influence.
He recalls, "I remember walking through the airport (in Britain) on the way back from Europe, completely wired. This was when I was in my really belligerent phase, so I was like, 'Search me, go ahead, search me,' to the customs officer.
"I had a gram of coke on me at the time. I don't know why I wanted them to search me - maybe to prove I could get away with it.
"They (customs officials) were like, 'We know who you are. We don't want to search you. Just go.' I could've ended up in prison but I didn't care."
