HEROES STAR HAS HIGH HOPES FOR JAPANESE HOMECOMING
The star of TV phenomenon HEROES can't wait to return to his native Japan as part of a global promotional tour - because he had a miserable time when he last went home.
Actor MASI OKA, who plays time-travelling Hiro in the hit series, will be given a hero's welcome when he returns to Japan, almost eight years since his last trip home.
Oka reveals he jetted back for new millennium celebrations, fearing the dreaded Y2K computer bug would bring the world to a standstill.
He says, "I fled there for New Year's Eve 1999, thinking that if there was an apocalyptic event I'd rather die in my homeland.
"But nothing happened, except three naked guys stood on top of a bus and threw beer bottles."
