HEPBURN 'TOO BEAUTIFUL' FOR HONEY ROLE
Late screen beauty AUDREY HEPBURN was rejected for the lead role in 1961 movie A TASTE OF HONEY - because she was "too stunning".
The Breakfast At Tiffany's star was wanted for the role of Josephine in the film, playing a plain working-class teenager who becomes pregnant by an African-American sailor.
But the role eventually went to fledgling actress Rita Tushingham - a little-known thespian from Liverpool, England.
Tushingham says, "The studio didn't want an unknown - they wanted, actually, Audrey Hepburn. She was a stunningly beautiful woman but I don't think she would have been right for Jo."
Hepburn died in 1993, aged 63.
