HATHAWAY'S FASHION FAUX PAS
ANNE HATHAWAY found it easy to relate to her unfashionable character in THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA after suffering a number style disasters when she was starting out in Hollywood. The young star had no idea about what clothes to wear and found herself completely unprepared while promoting her first big film, THE PRINCESS DIARIES. She recalls, "The press junket for the first Princess Diaries was the funniest thing, because I showed in LA and I didn't even know what a junket really was. "My manager called me and was said, 'What are you wearing?' and I said, 'Um, clothes...' "I ran out and bought this bright turquoise blue top, but unfortunately because you're in a hot room, I had these massive sweat stains. "And I was wearing pink leather pants. I didn't know my hair and makeup people - they made me look like a 40-year-old hooker. It was a huge disaster!"

Very often when comments are published out of contex they take on a different
meaning. The comment above dose suggest someone was realy scraping the bottom
of the barrel to find something newsworthy to report. Whereas in fact this was
Anne's amusing reply when asked if she did relate to Andie not being very
knowledgable about fashion at the beginning of the film TDWP. during an
interview which is in the current issue of Hollywood Life. I am sure Anne
would not agree or wish it to be so, that no matter how much makeup she slaps
on, or the designer clothes she is promoting, due to Anne's natural personna,
she still comes across as the beautiful, sexy, Girl Next Door. This image is
one that she has not created but something she was born with, and no matter how
hard she tries will never come across as the femme fatale, this image has to
date stood her in good stead, and on the two occasions she tried to deviate,
neither film moved her career forward. The first never made it onto the big
screen, her roll in the second has I suggest not resulted in many job offers.
Her latest release, which by all accounts returns her to the type of roll in
which she excells has done better than Anne thought it would, and is after all
the sort of roll that very few actresses could play.
Based on the comments made by her fans, Anne's last appearence on the red
carpet when she wore a very simple yellow dress, in which she appeared to
exsude confidence, self assurance, and most of all looking comfortable,
compared with those in Hollywood Life, which are posed and looking far from
comfortable were far better received. On the red carpet this is real life, and
the real Anne. There is a saying that would seem to fit this situation. [If
something ain't broke, why thy to fix it]
Can not believe you keep putting out this type of statement. You are after all
a highly intelegent well educated young lady, surely by now you must realise
that this kind of publicity can only harm your image. Is it possible you are
leaving these statements to someone else to deal with, which would seem the
only logical explanation,if so you really should check what is being said
before it is published. In any case are you not trying to leave behind the
Princess Diaries image and move on.
