HATHAWAY AND CARELL TEAM UP FOR GET SMART

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA star ANNE HATHAWAY is teaming up with STEVE CARELL for a big screen remake of the 1960s hit sitcom GET SMART. The movie will follow clueless secret agent MAXWELL SMART, a spy for CONTROL, who is fighting the evil forces of KAOS. The feature film adaptation will be set in the present day with Control falling on hard times after not receiving government funding matching other spy agencies such as the CIA. Carell, who has been onboard since the project was announced several years ago, will play Smart, a role originated by DON ADAMS. SMALLVILLE star KRISTEN KREUK was rumoured to be the front runner for the role of AGENT 99, made famous by BARBARA FELDON, which has now gone to Hathaway. Shooting on the project will begin in March (07).
