HASSELHOFF THREATENS LEGAL ACTION OVER DRUNK REPORT

DAVID HASSELHOFF has threatened legal action against British newspaper The Sun after a report claimed he celebrated winning custody of his teenage daughters by getting drunk. The former Baywatch star won full and physical custody of Hayley Amber, 14, and Taylor Ann, 17, last Friday (15Jun07) after a long court battle with his ex-wife Pamela Bach. Earlier this week (ends22Jun07), The Sun reported Hasselhoff celebrated at Hollywood nightclub Les Deux by "getting completed plastered" with a mystery blonde. The actor's publicist Judy Katz has issued a statement to TMZ.com, saying, "David wants a prominent apology from The Sun tabloid over an article titled 'David's Back on the Sway'. "Mr Hasselhoff emphatically denies the allegations." Katz added that if the publication fails to apologise, then "proceedings will begin next week in London's High Court for defamation of character, and there will be a Jury Trial in 2008, at which time he looks forward to clearing his name".
