DAVID HASSELHOFF snubbed beautiful fans of his hit TV show Baywatch, preferring to spend his nights drinking alcohol alone. The troubled star, who hit the headlines last week (ends04May07) when a video of him drunk was leaked online, claims he steered clear of amorous groupies on set for fear his family would suffer the consequences. But he admits shunning their advances only served to push him further towards alcoholism. In his autobiography Don't Hassel The Hoff, he writes, "I didn't have a great desire to mess around because if I cheated on my wife I knew I would also be cheating on my children and myself. "Girls would be outside my trailer door, clamouring to get in and I would drink the minibar. My assistants got all the girls and I got all the minibars."
