HASSELHOFF: 'COWELL CONNED ME'

Former BAYWATCH star DAVID HASSELHOFF has accused pop mogul SIMON COWELL of "conning" him into appearing on new US reality show AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. The 54-year-old is so upset at being lured into the project he's threatening to boycott a second series of the programme and concentrate on his own ventures. Hasselhoff, who gave up a London Christmas (06) pantomime role as CAPTAIN HOOK for the acid-tongued judge, tells Newsweek magazine, "This is not my cup of tea. I signed on for one season, and Simon Cowell conned me into it. It's like THE GONG SHOW. "I'm trying to get on a sitcom or maybe even my own show, 'Travels With the Hoff.'"
