HARRY POTTER IS U.K.'S BIGGEST GROSSING FILM OF 2007

HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX has been named the U.K.'s most successful movie of 2007, after taking more than $98.8 million (GBP49.4 million) at the box office. The fifth installment of the hugely popular boy wizard franchise beat the latest sequel Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, At World's End, to the top spot, with the Johnny Depp-starring movie coming in at number two with profits of $84.4 million (GBP42.2 million). Another sequel, Shrek the Third, was named in third place, after taking in excess of $77.2 million (GBP38.6 million) last year (07), while The Simpsons Movie is in fourth position. Two more trilogies - Spider-Man 3 and The Bourne Ultimatum - appear in the top 10 grossing movies of 2007, in fifth and seventh place respectively.
