HARRISON'S GUITAR SOLD FOR SIX-FIGURE SUM

A guitar played by the late BEATLE GEORGE HARRISON was auctioned for $226,000 (GBP115,000) last night (30NOV06). Other items of Beatles memorabilia sold at the Cooper Owens Music Legends auction at London's Air Studios included a grey shirt JOHN LENNON gave to a fan when they were locked in a bathroom together at the height of Beatlemania, which raised $9,850 (GBP5,000). A rare ROLLING STONES cover fetched $7,880 (GBP4,000), and a tambourine MARC BOLAN dedicated to London gangsters THE KRAYS sold for $1,380 (GBP700).
