HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR SWIFT AS SHE CLAIMS LAST U.S. ALBUM CHART TOP SPOT
Teenage country star TAYLOR SWIFT rang in 2009 with America's number one album on Wednesday (31Dec08).
The singer's Fearless scored a fourth non-consecutive week at number one on the same day she learned the release was the third biggest seller of the year, behind albums by Lil Wayne and Coldplay.
Swift kept Beyonce from returning to the top spot on the Billboard chart - I Am ... Sasha Fierce jumped up from five to two.
Britney Spears' comeback record Circus claimed the third spot on the new chart, while Nickelback's Dark Horse climbed up two spots to four.
Kanye West's 808s and Heartbreak completed the final top five of 2008 at five.
