'Obsessed' singer Mariah Carey has piled on weight recently because she is so happy with husband Nick Cannon.

Mariah Carey has blamed her happy marriage for her recent weight gain.

The 'Obsessed' singer - who has piled on 15lbs over the past few months - is so content with husband Nick Cannon, she is regularly indulging her fatty food cravings.

She is quoted as saying: "I love to eat. I never knew I could be this happy - it's pure bliss.

"I'm a curvy girl and switch around with my diets all the time. I love to eat."

Last month, it was revealed Mariah had put on weight during the recording of her new album.

The 40-year-old star is eating calorific treats as she works on her next release and is embracing her new, curvier figure.

A source said: "Mariah loves food. Right now she's making an album and eating everything and anything she wants. She loves the curves."

However, Mariah will undergo a strict fitness regime when she has to promote the LP.

The source added: "She'll definitely tone up again when she releases her album, but as of now, she's stuffing her face."
