HANNAH SUES OVER BICYCLE PROMOTION

Actress DARYL HANNAH is suing the makers of a hybrid electric bicycle for using her name and image to promote their product without permission.
The eco-friendly Splash star, 47, filed suit against executives at Currie Acquisition LLC at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday (26Sep08) over their ad campaign for the Izip.
She claims they illegally used a photo of her riding one of the bikes on their website and in their catalogue, wrongly leading potential customers to think that she endorsed the product.
In the legal papers, obtained by website TMZ.com, Hannah's attorneys state: "Plaintiff (Hannah) will not voluntarily appear in print or other media unless she carefully selects and believes in the product, and unless the compensation she received is commensurate with the value of the exploitation."
She is seeking damages in excess of $1 million (GBP540,550).
