HAMMOND JR. SCRAPS AUSSIE TOUR

THE STROKES star ALBERT HAMMOND JR. has been forced to scrap his solo tour of Australia and Japan after being struck down with a severe throat infection.
The singer, who is dating British supermodel Agyness Deyn, was supposed to play a show in Melbourne, followed by gigs at an Aussie festival in Sydney at the weekend (02-03Aug08).
But Hammond Jr. has been ordered not to travel in fear of worsening his condition.
His representatives say, "Albert sincerely regrets having to cancel his Australia and Japan shows, but has been given doctor instructed orders to not travel or sing for a minimum of two weeks, due to severe throat infection.
"He apologizes to all of you, and is currently trying to see if he can reschedule those missed dates this fall when he recuperates."
