HAGAR: 'VAN HALEN FANS WILL BE DISAPPOINTED'
Former VAN HALEN star SAMMY HAGAR fears the group's much-hyped reunion tour will fall flat without original bassist MICHAEL ANTHONY.
Anthony has been replaced by Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang for the upcoming tour, and the band's Why Can't This Be Love singer insists fans won't appreciate the line-up change when shows begin.
Hagar tells website KNAC.COM he would have refused to tour without Anthony - if he had been asked to join the reunion lineup.
He says, "If Eddie wants to play with his son, fine. I love my son too, but I got him a different job. I just think that it should be Mike.
"I just think the fans are gonna walk away with a little bit of a disappointment because Mike's a big part of that band."

Is sammy out of his mind? Van halen back with dave is the best move ever. now
van HALEN fans can hear real rock n roll, not all his sappy love songs, and his
solo stuff. I pay to hear van halen not van hagar. sammy you suck, take all your
money and fat mikkey and sail off in to the sun set. let the fans hear
wolf, dave, alex, and of corse KING EDDIE DO THEIR MAGIC.maybe if when you were
with them you sang more then 2 old van halen songs .and not when eagles fly you
would still be there. I will say this one thing i will miss about sammy when he
was with van HALEN at their shows i could go pee when he sang his solo
stuff, now with dave back i`ll have to hold it for 2 hours, but well worth it.
THE KINGS ARE BACK,THE KINGS ARE BACK,THANK GOD THE KINGS ARE
BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, I disagree, Fans will not be disappointed. Most will absolutely love
the show and go away with a smile and a resolve to buy more c.d.'s, while some
will critic, but they will be a minority. The shows will be great with a lot
of energy. Being in their fifties, they are still young by some standards, and
I believe they can still wow us. There are lots of comments about Eddie, and
his medical history, but let he who is without a physical body cast the first
stone. Dave is under fire for his language, which is accepted in a few
questionable circles. But actually they are great together, and the sound is
magnificent, entertaining, and has that swing. Yes,they are legends. I can't
help it, I love them.
