GUY RITCHIE MEETS MERCY

Madonna and ex-husband Guy Ritchie have improved relations with each other and He has met with her adopted Malawian daughter, Mercy James.

Guy Ritchie has met with Madonna's newly adopted daughter, Mercy James.

Relations between the 'RocknRolla' director and his pop star ex-wife are said to have improved since their divorce at the end of last year, and he was one of the first to meet Mercy.

Madonna brought the toddler – originally from Malawi - with her to visit England last week and the pair spent Friday (26.06.09) bonding with Guy.

The 'Miles Away' singer won a battle to adopt the child from her home country earlier this month.

A friend told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper:"He met her at Madonna's house and bonded with her immediately. He has nicknamed her Koala, as she has this habit of clinging to people and not wanting to let go."

Guy, 40, previously met Mercy last year when he and Madonna, 50, visited the orphanage where she was raised.

At the time the couple's marriage was in crisis and he was against the adoption, but since their divorce - which was finalised in January – he has supported his wife's decision to adopt.

Guy will reportedly have custody of the three other children he and Madonna raise – Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and adopted David, four - while she embarks on a European tour next month.

A source added that Lourdes, Madonna's daughter from a previous relationship, has been instrumental in improving relations between them.

The source added: "Lourdes really misses Guy. She is old enough to read the papers, and she hated the fact that they were having a go at each other in the Press. She told them to stop it. Since then Madonna has been making a real effort."
