GUESTS CONFIRMED FOR DOCTOR WHO
Guest stars for the new series of Doctor Who have now been confirmed, with some familiar faces joining Kylie Minogue for adventures in the Tardis.
Jekyll star Fenella Woolgar will star as Agatha Christie in a special episode where the Doctor meets the crime mystery novelist.
Felicity Kendal, notable for her role in The Good Life, will star as Lady Clemecy Eddison, while Blackadder and Notting Hill actor Tim McInnerny will also feature in a later episode.
Russell T Davies, head writer and executive producer of the show, said: "Visiting Agatha Christie has been on my wishlist for ages now and, for the Doctor, it's a real meeting of minds.
"Viewers can expect many more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008."
Agatha Christie's grandson, Matthew Prichard, said he was sure his grandmother would have been "intrigued, excited and above all flattered by all this attention in 2007".
Filming is now underway for the new episodes with Catherine Tate starring as the Doctor's assistant.
She will be playing the role of Donna, the runaway bride character included in an earlier special episode.
"I am delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey," the comedian said.
Another highlight of the forthcoming series is the inclusion of a fan-favourite alien, The Ood.
The Doctor and Donna will come into contact with the alien in a new episode called Planet of the Ood.
