GROBAN TO STAR IN U.K. CHESS REVIVAL

Singer JOSH GROBAN is to star in a rock concert revival of 1980s musical CHESS. The stage show, which was written by Abba stars Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson along with Tim Rice, was first seen in London's West End in 1986 before moving to Broadway two years later. And now the musical is set to be revived for two performances at the U.K. capital's Royal Albert Hall in May (08), according to British publication The Stage. Groban will star alongside theatre actress Idina Menzel in the show which will be re-worked with a rock 'n' roll theme. It will also feature a 50-piece orchestra and a 100-strong choir.
