GREAT WHITE MANAGER UP FOR PAROLE

The former tour manager for U.S. rockers GREAT WHITE who ignited a 2003 nightclub blaze which claimed the lives of 100 people has a parole hearing scheduled for 19 September (07). Daniel Biechele pleaded guilty to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter in February 2006 over the incident and was sentenced to serve four years in prison. He will have served 16 months by September's hearing, which could see him released. The fire was started when Biechele lit pyrotechnics during a February 2003 Great White concert at the Station nightclub in Rhode Island, killing 100 people and injuring more than 200 others. The band's guitarist Ty Longley was among those who died.
