GREAT WHITE MANAGER SEEKS REDUCED SENTENCE
GREAT WHITE's former tour manager is seeking a reduction in his four-year prison sentence for his involuntary manslaughter conviction, stemming from a 2003 nightclub fire. DANIEL BIECHELE was responsible for organising the stage pyrotechnics which sparked the deadly blaze at Rhode Island venue The Station Club, which left 100 fans and the band's guitarist TY LONGLEY dead. Biechele, 29, was found guilty at Rhode Island Superior Court in May (06) and was sent to serve his sentence at the state's Adult Correctional Institutions. Biechele's lawyer THOMAS G BRIODY tells the Providence Journal newspaper his client filed a one-sentence motion last Friday (25AUG06) to seek a reduced sentence, but is not asking for a court hearing at this time. The nightclub's co-owners are still awaiting trial, the outcome of which could determine whether Biechele is granted early release.
