GREASE STAR BACK IN REHAB
GREASE star JEFF CONAWAY has re-entered rehab in a bid to kick his dependency on painkillers.
Appearing at the TV Land Awards in Los Angeles at the weekend (07/08Jun08), bent double and using a cane to limp down the red carpet, the actor told reporters he'll be taping reality show Celebrity Rehab from Monday (09Jun08).
Conaway quit the first season of the show days before completing his televised treatment, but, speaking from the red carpet at the awards show, he revealed he's determined to finish what he started last year (07).
The actor, who played rocker Kenickie in Grease, insists his years of substance abuse and boozing are behind him, but now he wants to ween himself off the painkillers he takes for chronic back pain.
He says, "I'm taking meds for the back and I think it's time I get off of them... but there's a lot of pain going on.
"I can't take pills for the rest of my life and I'm gonna have to deal with pain one way or the other."
