GRATEFUL DEAD BIOPIC ON THE WAY
The story of the GRATEFUL DEAD is to hit the big screen in an upcoming biopic based on a biography of the legendary rockers written by a longtime roadie.
Steve Parish's 2004 book Home Before Daylight will be adapted by director Michael Garais and is being backed by Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, who will serve as music coordinator on the movie.
The film will trace the Truckin' band's beginnings in 1960s San Francisco, California through to frontman Jerry Garcia's death in 1995.
Parish was a roadie for the Grateful Dead for 35 years.
He says, "There has never been and there will probably never be another cast of characters like the Grateful Dead."
