GRANT REVEALS DEPRESSION IN NEW BOOK
Country star AMY GRANT rarely looks forward to Christmas because the holidays come as she's battling a seasonal depression. The singer admits she struggles with the winter blues, thanks to a family history of deep mood swings. In her new book, Mosaic: Pieces Of My Life So Far, Grant, who is married to beloved country icon Vince Gill, reveals her depression ruined her first months of motherhood and always threatens to wreck her family Christmases. She says, "I am aware of the cycle of the season, when there is less sunlight." But Grant insists she has found a way of battling the blues - go for a walk. She tells U.S. tabloid the Globe, "When my brain starts getting cloudy... I go, 'Whew, I need to put on my tennis shoes and go for a walk.' "I know if I leave it unattended, it has a chance to get out of hand." In the new book, Grant also reveals she sought professional help to deal with her divorce from talk show host Gary Chapman.
